Who is SuomiAreena for?
SuomiAreena is for everyone. It is Finland’s largest societal festival, bringing together citizens, societal thinkers and decision-makers.
Is SuomiAreena free to attend?
SuomiAreena takes place in open urban space, and stage programs are free to watch. All discussions can also be viewed for free on MTV’s Katsomo streaming service.
Are there seats?
Yes, every official stage has seating.
Can seats be reserved?
No, seating is filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Where can I find the official SuomiAreena programme magazine?
The printed programme magazine can be collected from the lobby of Pori City Hall, from hotels in Pori, or from the SuomiAreena information point at Eteläranta (Antinkatu 1). The programme magazine is also available to browse online here (in Finnish). Please note that the programme is subject to change.
Photography at the event?
SuomiAreena is an open public event, so performers, speakers and the audience may be freely photographed during the event. If you publish photos, please respect good practice and people’s privacy. Please note, that commercial use of images without permission from SuomiAreena is prohibited.
Photography and video recording take place in the festival area for SuomiAreena's own marketing purposes. The recorded material may be used for marketing in the channels of SuomiAreena and its partners. If you do not wish to appear in photos or videos, please inform the photographer when you are being photographed or filmed.
What else happens at SuomiAreena besides discussions?
In addition to the official stage program, Pori fills with music, community art, receptions, mingles, and sports events such as football, padel and baseball matches. Local businesses are actively involved. There is plenty to see and experience for everyone!
How are the food and beverage options?
The festival takes place in the heart of the city centre of Pori, making it easy to enjoy the offerings of local businesses. In addition, street food vendors and cafés have been invited to Eteläranta, where they will delight festival visitors during the opening hours of Kansalaistori.
