Finland is known for its strong defence, trained reserve and comprehensive security model. With NATO membership, Finland has become an even more visible provider of security in Europe and within the Alliance. At the same time, Finland carries forward Martti Ahtisaari’s legacy as a country of peace mediation, diplomacy and dialogue. The panel will discuss how credible defence and peacebuilding are reflected in Finland’s international role in 2026.
